  • Online Course - "The Future of Online Learning: Technologies, Tools, and Techniques." This 4-week online course runs periodically and has the following description:
    Technology is changing rapidly, and the possible uses of technology for education, training, and to improve job performance are seemingly endless. But technology-based solutions are not always successful, for one reason or another. As the world of online learning and performance changes, learner expectations change as well
    The course is aimed at corporate trainers, professors, and others interested in understanding successful approaches to online learning and performance support along with the research and theory that explain why they work. Dr. Guralnick designed the course and serves as the course professor each year.

    Pre-conference Workshop on the User Experience in E-Learning. This workshop's theme was educational media, with a special focus on how to evaluate the learning experience of the end user. The workshop format involved a mix of discussions of evaluation targets in relation to contexts, group work on how to design evaluation instruments, and demonstrations of educational media.

    A set of seminars which taught Target's trainers the principles behind a scenario-based, learning-by-doing approach to online learning, along with ways to implement the scenarios technically without requiring programming. The seminar series was based on a detailed design and implementation process that David, along with colleague Christine Levy, had developed and refined over the years.
